How Often Should You Get A Facial?

Writer's picture: Savannah PhillipsSavannah Phillips

Now that I'm back to doing facials at the gorgeous Retro Studio Bar, I felt like it was necessary to publicly answer a question I answer in the DM's all the time: how often should someone get a facial?

I want to start by saying a skincare routine at home is and will always be priority. If you're on a budget and have to choose one, choose the skincare routine every time. But that doesn't mean in-person facials don't offer amazing benefits. They can help with de-puffing, strengthen the facial muscles for a more lifted look, relieve tension in the face and neck, speed up the healing of acne breakouts, manually extract from the pores, and improve lymphatic flow.

The frequency in which someone should get a facial depends on their skin. If they have no skin concerns at all, every 3-ish months would be enough. If they're dealing with a specific skincare concern, like hyperpigmentation, deep fine lines and wrinkles, acne, Rosacea, etc, monthly facials are preferable until the skin gets in a more healthy place.

I personally struggle with inflammation in my sinuses, and I've noticed that regular facials and facial massages really help with getting all the congestion moving and helping my body to heal faster.

Additional options for a more in-depth facial, like chemical peels, should be discussed with your esthetician and used on an as-needed basis to treat skin concerns.

Also, it's so nice just to relax for an hour. The Deux Skin Facial is results-based, but still has a relaxing element to it. The warm towels, the massage while the mask sits, and the serum application with a facial massage is enough to make you let go of all of the stressors that make you subconsciously clench your jaw.

So if you're looking for a relaxing way to improve your health, get on your estheticians books every 1-3 months and enjoy the process!

Response times may be slower outside the general business hours of 1pm-5pm EST time. But probably not, because Savannah has no boundaries. Also calls probably won't get answered, but texts will!
