Why Sarah Doesn't Use a Moisturizer

Writer's picture: Savannah PhillipsSavannah Phillips

Our gorgeous little co-owner, Sarah, posted her everyday skincare routine on Instagram and it was missing one key product- moisturizer. Did you notice?!

Her exact routine was:

  1. CBD Mist

  2. Radiant Serum

  3. Diamond Bright Skin Lightener

  4. Tizo SPF

To give context, her skin type is normal, and her only skin concern is hyperpigmentation. So why on freaking earth is this girlie not using a moisturizer?!

So, let's start with what a moisturizer is. The definition of moisturizer is: "a lotion or cream used to prevent dryness in the skin." Of course, all skincare brands do it a little differently, but we all know it as the thicker, more hydrating last step of the routine. But the truth is, if something is thick enough, and hydrating enough to your skin, it can work as a moisturizer, even if it's not traditionally a moisturizer.

The Diamond Bright Skin Lightener, now known as the Diamond Bright Skin Illuminator, is by definition, a serum. Glymed classifies it as a serum, too. But it honestly looks like a moisturizer, and for skin as naturally perfectly balanced as Sarah's, it's just enough moisture to make the cut.

To be clear, MOST people need a moisturizer, especially if your skin is dry or oily. Sarah just happens to be an exception to the rule, which is incredibly on brand for her if you know her personally. Response times may be slower outside the general business hours of 1pm-5pm EST time. But probably not, because Savannah has no boundaries. Also calls probably won't get answered, but texts will!
